Prepare for the CLS Program
Get ready to apply to the Clinical Lab Science (CLS) program by completing the required prerequisites. You don’t need to be an admitted SFSU student to take Pre-CLS courses.

How to Register
Registration Starts: Fall: Mid-July | Spring: Early January | Summer: Mid-April
Step 1: Create your SFSU ID and email
Create an SFSU ID and email using Quick Admit.
Step 2: Request a permission code
Complete a course permission code request form, using your SFSU email. We will send a permission code directly to your SFSU email in one to two business days.
Step 3: Add class to shopping cart and check out
Select your class in the class schedule. Click the Add to Shopping Cart button, and follow the instructions to register and pay. Financial aid is not available.

About Pre-CLS Courses
If you are currently enrolled in CLS prerequisite courses through the SFSU CLS department, we will accept coursework that is still in progress at the time you submit your application. Courses scheduled to be completed in the same semester as your application will be considered pending.
This policy offers a smoother path to the CLS program for students already taking their prerequisites with us, helping you stay on track without delays.
