You’ll work with a pre-health advisor to build a course plan that fits your academic path.

Summer Application Period

  • Opens: October 1
  • Deadline: March 1 at 8:59 p.m. PT (11:59 p.m. ET)

Who Should Apply for Summer Admission

  • Career Changer Track (CCT): Best for applicants who have not yet taken General Chemistry I.
  • Academic Enhancer Track (AET): Open to all applicants.

SFSU’s Pre-Health Professions Post-Baccalaureate program helps you strengthen your academic record and complete prerequisite courses. The program is designed for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree and want to prepare for U.S. health professional schools.

You’ll work with a pre-health advisor to choose the right courses for your goals, whether that means prerequisites, upper-division electives or both.

Fall Application Period

  • Opens: October 1
  • Deadline: April 15 at 8:59 p.m. PT (11:59 p.m. ET)

Who Should Apply for Fall Admission

  • Career Changer Track (CCT): You must have completed General Chemistry I at the major’s level and one college-level math course. If you have not taken General Chemistry I, consider applying for the summer cycle.
  • Academic Enhancer Track (AET): Open to all applicants.

Apply by April 15

Pre-Health Post-Bac Application Guidance Info Session - Spring 2026

Our spring 2026 application is open August 1 - October 1. Join our info session for assistance in completing your application before the deadline.

Learn the ins and outs of the Pre-Health Post-Baccalaureate Certificate application process. We will cover the various components of an application and provide tips for creating your strongest submission. We will also answer any questions you may have. Applicants who have already submitted their application are welcome to join the meeting.

We will include:

  • Coaching on essay prompts
  • Instructions on how to complete the Coursework Spreadsheet
  • Advice on how to work with your letter writers
  • An opportunity to ask questions about the application process
