Academic Certificate, Pathway and Semester @ SF State students: F-1 and J-1 students must have health insurance during the entire semester. Students are required to buy the SF State-approved health insurance. Other health insurance plans will not be accepted.
Students may purchase additional insurance policies if they wish, but they must purchase the international health insurance plan pre-approved by SF State regardless.

For the 2024 - 2025 academic year (fall 2024, spring 2025 and summer 2025), we have transitioned our insurance network from GeoBlue to United HealthCare.
