Why did you choose to attend SFSU Post-Bac Program?

I chose to attend the SFSU Post-Bac because I liked the structure it offered. Having the guidance and direction of the program helped a lot. In undergrad, I often felt like I had to figure things out on my own and was glad to have the support and direction of the post-bac advisors at SFSU.

What is/was your favorite spot on the SFSU Campus, and why?

The Pub! It was a great place to hand out between classes.

Which SFSU Post-Bac class was your favorite and why?

Cancer Biology. The principles we learned in that class can be applied to other classes, and I felt it was relevant for the MCAT.

What is/was your favorite thing to do in SF?

Picnics at Golden Gate Park

Tell us something you learned as an SFSU Post-Bac that is important to you.

I learned the importance of work-life balance. Undergrad was really stressful and I didn't have a healthy balance between school and time for other things. In the post-bac, I improved my time management skills and honed in on study strategies that were efficient.

What advice would you give to incoming post-bac students?

Take things a step at a time. It can be overwhelming to think of all the subsequent steps, and the time it will take to get to your goal. The time passes anyway. You got this!

What resources have you used while a post-bac to help you reach your goals?

I used the advisors a lot while in the post-bac to figure out next steps. And peers!

Did you make meaningful friendships in the program? If so, tell us about them.

Yes! I had a close friend group in the program and miss being able to hang out with them. Adult friendships are hard, but I love seeing their successes even if we're no longer able to hang out after class together.
