You now have more time to apply for the Graduate Certificate in PK-12 Climate Justice Education. The application deadline has been extended to May 15 for a summer 2026 start.

If you are an educator who wants to bring climate justice into your curriculum, this one-year program is designed for you. Offered in collaboration with the Graduate College of Education’s Department of Elementary Education, the certificate supports PK-12 teachers across subject areas.

In this program, you build core scientific knowledge about climate change and examine its ecological, social and economic impacts on the communities you serve. You also develop culturally responsive, developmentally appropriate strategies to engage students in climate learning rooted in justice and hope.

Bay Area educators may request an application fee waiver.

Apply by May 15 to join the summer 2026 cohort.
