Real Estate Law 101 

Presented by: Paul P. DeAngelis, Law Office of Paul P. DeAngelis

Paul P. DeAngelis runs his own firm in San Francisco and concentrates on real estate matters. Since 2018, he has taught five different courses at SF State’s Paralegal Studies program, most often PLS 305 (Investigation, Discovery & Trial Prep), PLS 310 (Legal Ethics & Communication Skills), and PLS 410 (Real Estate Law). In 1996, Paul graduated with honors from Boston University School of Law. Since 1998, he has practiced law in San Francisco at litigation firms prior to starting his firm in 2015. Paul has worked closely with paralegals on litigation and trial teams. Paul swims in the San Francisco Bay as a member of the South End Rowing Club and received its Volunteer of the Year Award in 2022.

San Francisco Legal Professionals Association is an accredited MCLE Provider through Legal Professionals, Incorporated, an approved provider. SFLPA certifies that this seminar has been approved for one minimum continuing education credit in the amount of 1.0 hour by the State Bar of California.

Clear and Concise Writing - Clear sentence structure benefits your reader. Choose your words wisely. Avoid jargon and legalese. Write in active voice. Use proper punctuation.



Class 2 | Monday, August 21 | Noon - 1:15 p.m. 

MCLE: 1 Hour


Persuasive Writing - Convince your reader to “buy in” to your argument. Convince the opposition to agree with your opinion. Writing persuasively is an art form.

Interactive Writing Workshop - Learn how to implement the tips and tools they have learned in classes one and two to prepare a brief memorandum or demand letter.
